Calling all Family Historians.
Each day something else gets put on the Internet which can help make our research easier. I will start with those sites which do not incur any cost.
Did you know that there was a Family History Society in Weston?
www.wsmfhs.org.uk Many of the members are also members of the U3A Family History Group.
Other areas have their own societies and links can be found on www.ffhs.org.uk the Federation of Family History Societies
Most of us are old enough to have grandparents who were alive when the census was taken on the 3rd of April 1881 - if so you can probably find them at home with their parents on
www.familysearch.org
This is the site run by the Church of the Latter Day Saints and on it - you can search (amongst other things) the 1881 census for your ancestors.
If anyone has difficulty using this site please email me and I'll explain.
